    Retrieving corrupted video files
I have some video files on the computer that has been corrupted. The videos were from my camcorder. They were OK until I installed this polaroid arcsoft software on the computer. It is from my new camera. The formats on the videos have been altered. I can only hear the sound. I cannot see the video even after I have deleted the software. Is there anything I can do to repair the video files?

It might just be that installing the arcsoft software screwed up the codecs previously installed to play the video files. Which file format do the files have? And with which program do you usually play them?
Try first downloading VLC Media Player it comes with its own codecs and can play almost every video format know to man.
It is unusual that video files with integrated audio would play the audio from beginning to end when the file is corrupted.
