:confused: We have recently purchased a house in Florida and would like some of your opinions!

1. We have decided to replace 3 bedrooms with laminate flooring. We have purchased roughly 800 sqft of laminate floor at Home Depot for $.99 a sqfoot. The installation would include removal of existing carpets at a price of $1000.00. Is this a reasonable deal?

2. We have decided to paint the house using 2-3 different paints just for some effect and the contractor has quoted us $950.00 to paint our 1300 sqfoot home. The contractor asked us to supply the paint so that no discrepancies would be made. Is this also reasonable?

3. We have 4 areas on the roof that are questionable and if not repaired could lead to more serious problems. The contractor has stated he will replace the problem areas and supply all the materials for $1000.00. Finally, is that a reasonable deal?

Ginger, it almost impossible for us to really have any accuracy from just reading what you have. The best advice is to always get 3 bids and give each bidder a typed listing of exactly what you want done. Then you can compare apples to apples.
