Hiya, I'm looking for some ideas, I need to find an engine that is 3 cyl and preferably around 1000cc in capacity this for a car not a motorcycle =)

The only engine I can think of that might fit your needs and still available in wrecking yards would be one of the Suzuki Swift variants. It was also branded as a Geo Metro. Other than that the only other three cylinder I can think of would have been a DKW from the 60's.
