    Whose money is it.
Im curious... if the accident injured me, then the money comes to me right? Since I'm only 16 it has me wondering, I know the money won't be here for a while but it will be my money right?
My mom once said to me in a fight that since she pays for the insurance, and everythign, that its her money?
No to sound greedy or anything. But it would be my money wouldn't it?

Depends on what money, if you had hospital bills, doctor bills and the such, that money would go normally to pay your parents back for that.

    1. what type of accident
    2. whose insurance is paying

For example health insurance goes to pay the doctors

This user appears to have a differnet IP address, so it does not appear to be the same person, unless of course one is at work and the other home

The money paid out for an insurance claim goes to make the INSURED whole. First the payment is used as reimbursement for damages that were a result of the accident. These include medical expenses. Often the insurer will make a direct payment to the medical providers.

Now, if there is anything left over after paying for damages to property and medical costs, they would go in trust for you until you are 18. Bit don't count on there being much.

I notice your other posts about heavy scarring on your leg from an accident. I'm presuming it's THIS accident. The money you are awarded for pain/suffering/permanent injury is yours. The Court will order it held for you until you are of legal age and, depending on the amount, given to you in installments at certain (legal) ages. This is true the majority of the time. The settlement should be broken down by reimbursement for medical, pain/suffering, special and/or nursing care.

Your mom just cannot arbitrarily take the settlement money from you since you are a minor. The money disbursement will have to ultimately be approved by the Judge in a lawsuit situation. I assume that you have a lawsuit that resulted from the accident. Your attorney will have to legally be looking out for you because you are a minor and run everything past the Judge for his approval.
