Too much oil in my b&s lawn mower
    Hi
I put way too much oil in my briggs/straton lawn mower.. it was coming out the sides. So I drained most of it out, but the mower won't start. Did I ruin it for good? Please help

What sides was it coming out of?

Did you try to start it? And it smoked like crazy?

You may have gotten too much oil in the valves and cylinder. I would pull the plug and see how much oil you have in the cylinder and drain that out.

Basically it needs to sit and let the oil drain out of the areas its not supposed to be in.

I have run mowers on such steep grades they smoke and shut down.

You should be fine. Trick here is to get the oil drained out of the non oil areas, which is usually letting it sit. Take out plug, pull cord to get piston to top of cylinder and check for oil there. If there is then a wood stick and a rag can clean out the combustion chamber
