Washing machine waste outlet - can it all run at floor level?
Hi I have just installed an intigrated washing machine, my problem is this. The wastepipe (connected at the base of the machine/floor level) is around 3 metres away from the waste outlet (located around 400mm high from the floor level). Firstly can I go this distance without a problem as I have to extend the original hose & secondly do I have to put a standpipe behind the washing machine as at present there is no room for one & I have been lead to believe that the waste pipe needs to go up first rather than stay at floor level then up and out of the wall.

p.s the waste pipe will also be going around a corner, will this pose a problem?!

    Regards

The waste outlet needs to be higher than the washer basket, or it will never fill! (If you ever have to move the washer, you drain the water by lowering the discharge hose below the basket. You may run into a problem if you run the discharge hose along the floor, as the hose may continue to suction after the drain cycle is complete.

You shouldn't have a problem with the distance or going around a corner, as long as the discharge pipe is not restricted. There should be an air gap between the hose and the waste pipe.
