What does the gas pilot light on a Trane XE 60 heater look like when properly lit
Hey all. I recently joined this site because I was trying to find info on my heater (Trane XE 60). I wanted to know what the pilot light should look like when it is working correctly. Mine is lit but appears to be blowing flame in two directions. This wouldn't be a problem except one direction gets pretty close to what appears to be part of the internal support frame for the unit. I just wanted to make sure this was normal for the unit. If anyone could provide pics for comparison or let me know this is working correctly, I would greatly appreciate it. Googling this issue brings me to this site repeatedly so I figure it's a good place for people like myself. Thanks for any help.

    Hi EmeraldSmurf,

You posted in April and no one has answered you? I just joined now, this does not bode well. But to answer your question, the flame should NOT have two different directions. I saw what my pilot light looked like before it was extinguished and it was a standard one directional flame. I hope you got real help!
