    Left side waistline pain persists
I've just joined this site. Over the last 3 months I've had a continuous pain in my left side. I have no pain when lying down, overnight or first thing in the morning, but it develops as the day goes on, with bending and sitting.
Sometimes when I'm lying down, if I breathe in fully, extending my lungs, I can feel/hear a slight rupturing sound.
My kidneys and bladder have been tested and are clear. I've also been given an ultrascan for the main organs and ovaries, which I've been told are clear.(I did have a large cyst on the left ovary before.)
I did have a fall shortly before this started and wondered if it could be related to that.
I have also had a colonic polyp, which was removed and I've been told to have this checked every three years - now requiring this as three years have just passed.
Can you give adivce on this?

    Perito

Several things come to mind (and I'm no expert in this). Appendicitis, Crohn's disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Colitis, Diverticulitis, Bowel Cancer, Hernia.

The idea that it doesn't appear first thing in the morning but develops as the day goes on suggests IBS to me, but, as I said, I'm not an expert in this area (but I did have IBS).

    What does your doctor say?
