    Bumps in the vaginal area
I am a mother of three beautiful boys. My oldest which is twelve has female friend who looks up to me as a mom. She is 13yrs old. She called today and wanted me to take her to the clinic. She is sexually active and has between 5-10 bumps on her not soars but bumps. She is terrified and she says they hurt if you touch them. She doesn't want to tell her mom and dad but I am worried. Could these be vaginal herpes or warts?

There is no way to tell via the internet. She is going to have to be seen and treated appropriately.

13 is WAY too young to be sexually active. She very well could have a permanent disease that could affect her childbearing years.

It's possible if she's been having unprotected sex. They could also be blocked sebaceous glands (ie. Ingrown hairs).

Get her to the doctor but also convince her to talk with her parents about this.

I understand wanting to be helpful but a sexually active 13 yr-old has a number of problems she needs help with. Be supportive because she trusts you. Just prod her into having this conversation with her parents so that you don't find yourself in a "sticky" situation by going behind their backs.
