    Have a non compete claus , in IN. is this a legal document and can I still work?

    You can not work or start your own business that would be considered competition to the company that you have the non compete document with. You can do anything not related. Then depending on what it is you might be able to work at something in a similar field. Like say you have a non compete form for a gourment company you should still be able to work for fast foods. Even though they both deal with food they are not competition. If you want to work somewhere and are not sure you can get in touch with the former employer and ask.

    Hello d:

    If your non compete agreement prevents you from working in your chosen line of work, it is NOT legal. If it prevents you from dealing with customers that belong to this company, then it MIGHT be legal.
