    T-stat for electric floor warmer
I recently purchased a 30 sq ft cable warming system for my tile floor. When I went to purchase the t-stat it was a GFCI, 7 day programmable for $130, really overkill for what I need. I found a manual one for $65 with no GFCI. Here is my question, the bathroom is in the basement and I'll be using the sanibest system which is plugged into a 20 amp GFCI outlet, that is the only device on that circuit. Could I run the non-GFCI t-stat off the toilet outlet? The pump uses 9 amps and the warmer 3.7 amps. If not does anybody have any suggestions I really don't want to spend that much a t-stat but I do want to do the job right.

You do not always have to use the t-stat from the same manufacturer, but I would bet that they do require the heat be GFI protected. As long as you do this you should be fine.

These two items are OK together on a 20A circuit.
