    Questions for Honda Techs.
All pertaining to 95 Civic EX...
1.What is the valve lash adj.
2.Is there a idle speed adj. and where is it,or is it computer contolled?
3.When I stopped working on Hondas,1989, there were bolts that could be
Loosened to adj. the timing belt if it got loose. Is there a way to do that on my 95 Civic? Don't see any access on the timing belt cover like on the old ones.
    Thanks in advance,copen.

    1. Valve lash adjustment is the periodic adjustment of the intake and exhaust valves. The mechanic adjusts them when the engine is cold and uses a feeler gauge to set the proper clearance between the valve and the rocker arm.

    2. Adjusting the idle speed is not straight-forward, the way it used to be. On most Hondas the adjustment is made when the engine is warmed up. The 3-P connector to the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve is disconnected and the idle screw on the end of the throttle body is adjusted to specification (normally around 450 rpm). The idle adjustment screw is often "leaded in," to prevent owners from fiddling with it. Take a small screwdriver and dig it out. Additionally, to set the idle speed, you need to locate the BLU tachometer wire, which goes from the distributor (actually connected to the igniter inside the distributor) to a bundle of wires located near the clutch master cylinder reservoir. A tachometer is attached to the BLU wire. After the adjustment is made, the 3-P connector is reattached to the IAC valve. When that's done, the idle speed increases a fair amount.

    3. Don't think you are going to find an easy way to gain access for adjusting the timing belt.
