First its not a good idea to piggyback your question on someone else's. This can lead to confusion. You should start a new thread. So I've moved your question to its own thread.
A bank can freeze and transfer funds held in an account if they receive a writ of execution. The bank does not know the source of the funds. Nor may the plaintiff know.
If you could prove the funds were from SS, you could have gotten them back, but if this occurred several years ago its probably too late.
