Hi all. I have a Maytag top load washer model #MAV7057AWW.

Problem: All works fine until the spin cycle. When it is time to spin, the tub rotates slowly and water also pumps slowly. Also get an oder of burning rubber but the belt seems OK other than black residue on the motor pully only. The pump is clean as well as all drain hoses. Motor has the spring in place and seems to swivel freely. This occurs during all wash cycle settings.

Sounds like a problem with the break assembly.

Found out it was the bearing for the drive pully. 37 bucks fixed it and running like new again. Thanks for the reply, very much appreciated. ;)
