Is the cleaning Industry Recession Proof
Now I have read similar articles about cleaning companies and the recession. I read that maid services have seen a decline in the past months, but at the same time Janitorial services expect to see a increase in the growth sector of 5-10%.
My question to you cleaning business owners out there, Janitorial and or Residential... Are your industries recession proof or are they declining in productivity?

WE lost a major account that we had for over 9 years right before Christmas. The loss was not related to the economy or something that we did wrong... new CEO, brought in new cleaning company, it happens...

That individual loss amounted to approximately $87,000.00 per month in billings. We have also had some clients cut back on service a bit.

To answer your question will not be easy CM... businesses in general is cutting back everywhere and cleaning will not be spared... those that survive and flourish will have the brightest, hardest working, innovative, determined owners and staff...

The game plan instantly became 'heavy sales' efforts... we have replaced about half of it in the last three months.

As Mike Ditka (Da Coach) says: ACE: attitude, character and enthusiasm... be driven... always...

Keep all those 12 balls that you must keep in the air constantly... polished...

No industry is recession proff, if 1/2 of your clients go out of buiness and you can't replace them, you hurt

If 30 people in your area start a new business because they were laid off and take 1/2 of your accounts, you hurt.

A company may cut down the number of days you clean to save money, They may decide to let some of their workers do it, since their work is slow,

The issue is your marketing, replacing lost customers, and your customer service keeping the ones you got
