    Refund of Tax
    Hi,

My husband filed his tax in 2007 in US and we also got married that year. For some reason we missed out getting my ITIN number. We live in the UK now. Can I apply for my ITIN from the IRS services at the US embassy in London now, so that we can claim for excess tax refund for year 2007 please?

    Thanks
    P

You need to amend his 2007 return by submitting Forms 1040X and W-7 with a notarized photocopy of your passport.

All of this needs to be mailed to the ITIN Processing Center in Austin, Texas (the exact address is in the W-7 instructions).

If you need professional help to file this amendment and Form W-7, contact me at [email protected].
