    Disconnecting mains electricity.
I am about to demolish a house. Once the utility company has disconnected the electricity do I have to have a licensed contractor to move the power cable and meter ?

    Thank you.

Once the electirc power utility company disconnects the power to the structure, no license is needed to demo or remove any electrical wiring.

A license is only needed for new work being installed or repaired.

Be sure to consult with any other utility, such as natural gas, water, telephone, CATV to be sure all utilities are disconnected.
