Hi everyone,
I would like to know what kind of adapters or other required parts are needed to connect my existing P trap under my sink to the existing cast iron drain pipe.
Thanks,
Bill

The easyest way to do that would be just to get a rubber confer with 2 hose clamps
Hi all:
Bill... the correct method for this would be to use a SHIELDED CLAMP... see picture. These are clamps that transition between different materials...
You will want to purchase a 2" cast iron x 2" PVC shielded clamp (available at all home supply stores) and reduce out of the clamp with a 2"x1.5" PVC reducing coupling if you need to reduce to 1.5".
If you have a threaded cast iron fitting then you would use a PVC male or female adapter (see pictures) and some pipe dope to seal the threads
The fernco rubber couplings with the SS hose clamps are used for repair work but they are really only intended to be used underground... just F.Y.I all... :)
Let me know if you have more questions or details that will help me to give a better answer.
MARK
I agree with Mark. Use the coupling as shown in his 1st photo.
