I am now exactly 3 weeks late and took a pg test this mornig and it came back negative. I amm experiecning almost all the symptoms except my breasts arnt sore they just feel larger. So what I'm asking is shouldn't a home pregancy test be able to pick up hcg at 21 days late?

Well that just depends on if you have a high enough level of it in your sample. The best time of day to take the test is first thing in the morning, because that is when the level of HCG is highest. But I would suggest going to the Dr. if you can as soon as possible. That is the only sure way to know for sure and stop STRESSING... :-)

Stress could also be the culprit too, so try to stay calm, and just go see your OB/GYN as soon as you can, simply because there could also be some underlying problem you may not know you have as well.

I am going to the hospital tomorrow and I am going to tell them all the symptos and I'm not stressing but I just wanted to know if that was possible and was wondering if tis or anything like this has happened to anybody else

Great that you are going to the Dr. tomorrow. And yes I had that same thing happen to me and it turned out that I had an ectopic pregnancy that was about to burst. Luckily they caught it in time.

Yes, this has happened to me. I took three home pregnancy test and they all came back negative, but I knew I was pregnant, I could feel it. Then I made a doctor's appointment and they confirmed my intuition. I was pregnant.

So I went to the hospital and requested a blood pg test and they still only gave me a urine test... and that came back negative, but I am still having the same feelings as I did before... im worried and I have no idea on what's going on. We have been trying to get pregnant but I haven't been stressing because I know about the whole mind trick thing but now at 23 days late and still no positive test I am beginning to have doubts, even though a late period is very very rare for me I haven't had one in 4 years... PLEASE HELP ME

See what happens when your next period is due... if it doesn't show, chances are your doctor will order a blood test at that time. This is because it can happen where a period is just skipped once in awhile for a variety of reasons, or for no apparent reason at all.

I will keep you in my prayers and hope that you find answers. Because like "Doulalc" said you could not have a period for any number of reasons. So lets just pray for the best outcome in this.
