    What's up with my ex?
Why would an ex delete me from Facebook and myspace but not block me and keep me on msn and Yahoo chats (I checked just out of curiosity)? I wouldn't do that if I were over that person. Is the ex looking for attention and/or an ego boost? Or does the ex think I might want to get back in contact or be friends? By the way, it's been about a 3 weeks and the breakup was nasty and the ex has a new person in their life, yet still called and emailed me. I don't get it.

Why does it matter to you?

Do not waste your time on caring about the actions of an ex. It is fairly unproductive.

    Hi Smile,

Welcome to AMHD! It seems that your ex is 'keeping the door somewhat open' just in case things don't work out between her and the new person. I wouldn't read too much into this though. It won't do you any good. If I were you, I would delete her from msn and Yahoo chat; this way it shows that you don't need them anymore in your life, and you are moving on.

Plain and simple: your ex wants you out of his/her life.

Doesn't matter what exes do, what you do is more important. Delete them yourself, and cut all contact, to close that door, they are trying to leave open.

I'm trying to move on (and I had) but then I get this random call or an email and all the feelings come back.

Change your number and block his/her email. Problem solved...

kctiger- I tried. I have to get a new phone if I want to change my number. I don't have that kind of money right now.

Oh, and I should add that this was a verbally and mentally abusive relationship, so it makes it that much harder when I am reminded of the old times. Should I email the pathetic loser or just ignore?

    IGNORE! DELETE! BLOCK!

P.S. You can now block numbers from calling your phone; ask your telephone provider about this. And never answer his calls.

I don't understand. I was under the assumption that you are able to get a new number without paying for it. If you live in America, it should be part of the laws of the FCC.

    kctiger-

My phone company charges I found out.

    mudweiser-

I do ignore but the feelings are still there.

It was not an amicable breakup, actually, we still don't know who broke up with whom. We just stopped talking. There has been no closure which makes it tough to move on.

I think it's normal to still have "feelings", it happens when you see an ex or they try to contact you.

Just don't take action because of those "feelings". It was an abusive relationship and you are far better off gone than to retrace your steps.

What I'm understanding is he wants to stay in touch with you just in case him and the other person breaks up and he knows you will go back to him.

I guess he doesn't want that person to know he is talking to you

    Hollie-

I haven't talked to or emailed the ex. No contact from the ex since then has been made but I am expecting something sooner or later which will only hurt me. I don't want to be in contact but the whole relationship has been a blow to my self-esteem and ego and I need some closure. What I want is to understand why the ex does this.

Maybe he needs time for whatever happened between you
I know you might still have feelings for him
If you are just sitting around then get out and have some fun
I did the same and it hurts and it might destroy you for the rest of your life well mine did
He cheated on me so now its hard for me to trust people now
But I found someone new and you could to
Do you have any kids together?
