I have a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 W/5.9, 360, it won't start, but, if you put starting fluid in carb truck runs. But wait awhile truck won't start , why?

. Strainer on fuel pump may be clogged.

. Check fuel pressure.

. Replace the spark plugs (Champion only), with the exact ones that came in the truck, if they have more than 30,000 miles on them. I've helped other people with Dodge pickups, where they installed cross-referenced plugs, get their trucks running again by simply installing the Champion plugs that came in their truck.
