Financial judgments in Texas
I have serious financial problems & already have 1 credit card judgment. I had a free consultation with an attorney that advised due to the amount of debt, I could file bankruptcy but I didn't have the money to pay for that. He advised that I could just let everything go since I was unable to repay any of the debt. I have received an interrogatory requesting information about my bank accounts ,employer, social security number etc. The attorney already advised me that my wages could not be garnished in Texas but my bank account could. My question is, am I legally required to provide my bank account information, my employers name & address & my social security number? Why would I need to give my employers information if my wages cannot be garnished? I don't want to jeopardize my job by providing this information. Can I refuse to answer this information?
