Wrecked my car under a suspended license.
So I have a court hearing coming up soon for this event, and was just wondering if anyone knew any information on it. All right, so I already had a suspended license due to a DUI. I was driving my car (under a suspended license) and wrecked into a telephone pole, scared because I knew I was not allowed to drive a flew the scene. I first lied to the cops and told them my car had been stolen, but was seen on a near by camera. I then admitted to this crime after first feeding false information. What will likely be the outcome of this once I go to court. Will I get house arrest? How long?. Jail... how long, and how does that work? Anyone's answers will help a lot. Thanks.

That happened to me once. Well, my license wasn't suspended but I walked away from the accident, only to go back...

Sorry, the legal ramifications are not my specialty. Okay, your license was suspended? Take the bus! Alcohol is causing trouble for you? Quit drinking. And, just pay all those fines you got before graduating college.

It may seem hard. It'll make you stronger and less likely to make those same mistakes again. If you decide that you're different, it's all so unfair, there must be another way... You'll grow up. Growing more mature is so much better than just growing old.

Its hard to judge. Depends on your locality. For example on LI, where the Nassau DA is coming down hard on DUIs, you might get jail time.

What are the exact criminal charges.

Driving while suspended, fleeing the scene of accident, filing a false police report. Another DUI,

If you have 4 or 5 or 6 charges, except it to be harder, I would never go to this without a good attorney.

But yes, in some places a DUI is automatic jail time now. But I can expect the license to be suspended or revolked for many more years now at least plus some really big dollar fines

I note in your other posts that you have a number of fines which you have not paid. Between the unpaid fines and this episode, in NY I would see jail time.

I don't know where you are.
