Exercises like squats (pretend you are about to sit on a stool, but stand up before your bum touches), lunges, step-ups etc are all good for working the muscles in your things and bums, the best way to reduce your hips size is to watch your diet.
If you have big hips, you have more bodyfat on your hips than you want. Reduce your portion sizes and try eating more green veg and fewer white carbs.
I agree w/ eileen, you should add cardio to your routine-biking, running, speed walking at least 30 min. per day.
I am fatty on my lower portion than upper so tell me any exercise and diet control
