Antibiotic for gram +&- bacteria w/o sun sensitivity
Is there an antibiotic for gram + and gram - bacteria without increased sun sensitivity as a side effect. Doxycycline dooms me to sunburn.

What is your infection? An std? Urinary ?

What specific type[s] of gram + and gram - infection are involved?

Ideally a culture and sensitivity would direct which antibiotic[s] is most appropriate.

    BTW

Tequin was pulled from the US market in 2006 for potentially causing hypoglycemia

Like inthebox said, if you actually stated your condition and what you're trying to treat, we can offer better suggestions.

Culture showed nothing infected. It is prostatitis that is being treated. All the floroquinalones are gram + and - bactericidal but they are so harsh. Doxycycline is only bacteriostatic. Don't want to end up floxed from floroquinalones. I I know tequin is off the market. Just trying to get any response. Cipro levaquil all those to harsh.

For prostatitis, sorry to tell you, the quinolones, Septra, and doxycycline are the recommended products, the others don't get to the prostate and treat gram + &-. Get a good sunscreen, perhaps neutrogena w/ helioplex.
