    Anyone know the penalties?
Live in Texas. (Henderson county). Ex is convicted felon. (served 3 years-off paper now) Has had numerous run-ins with the law since being released (DUI x2, deadly conduct -before prison term. After release-failure to appear at theft by check hearing, possession of dangerous drug (pled guilty),no insurance, theft by check) because he is a known crack addict. As of today, he's got 9 warrants for theft by check (over 20 but under 500), has 2 pending traffic tickets, suspended license for failure to pay surcharge. (got in trouble for no insurance x2). My question is this. When he is arrested for the 9 warrants for theft by check, does anyone know what the typical jail sentence is? This is the 3rd time he's been put on the payment plan through county attorney's office and the 3rd time he's failed to pay.(checks, at last count, were appr. $2200 total) Was told by C/A office that he CAN bond out and it's 100 per charge but only 10% of that, so $90 is what his bond will be. Would they really be stupid enough to let him out if he's been dodging L/E for over 3 weeks now and is known for not appearing on court dates?

9 warrants and only $90.00 bond? Highly unlikely he will be out in the near future..

Well here's an update... ex got arrested for no insurance (2nd conviction), no registration and possession of drug paraphernalia (2nd time) and THEY'RE LETTING HIM OUT IN 3 DAYS!! ONLY 5 DAYS IN JAIL!! Warrants haven't hit yet and local rental place is pressing charges against him for renting a laptop and then pawning it. If they release him, no one will ever see him again because he has no permanent residence. He asked me several times if he could come live with me and our 4 year old son after he gets out Tuesday (must have still been high) but I told him he needs to use his phone calls in there to get ahold of some rehabs because there is NO WAY I'm putting our son on that roller coaster ride again.

Well, here's another update. The idiot judge dropped 8 of the 9 charges of theft by check and put him on yet another payment plan. He has once again, failed to pay anything, so they have issued a warrant. He also has a warrant out of another county for failure to appear/failure to pay traffic ticket. His mother is a jailer, knows he has warrants and is not telling the police where he is. (even though she knows full well where he is because she visits him). He recently told me that even though he's over 3 grand in arrears for child support, he 'has more important things to pay first before he worries about child support'. Now I'm having to quit college and find a second job in order to pay the bills since he's not helping at all. Isn't there someone out there that can help? Give me some ideas on what I can do? I don't want to quit college since I'm the ONLY one that's trying to secure my son's future, but don't know what else to do.
