How do I section layered hair for straightening ?
Hi there.. I just can't get my coarse wavy hair straight with my straightening tongs/irons... could anyone tell me how to section it the right way ? Its shoulder length and layered quite short- ish on top.. ive used all sorts of de- frizzers but they don't seem to work.. I even got one of those battery operated rotary brushes.. they make my hair feel fantastic but that makes it baloon out to the sides so I end up looking like I'm wearing a wig ! ;) I think I'm not sectioning it properly but I don't know how to do it !any help would be appreciated,
    Thanks
    welshwoman:)

For a sleek look, apply a serum to damp hair, then blow-dry while using a large round brush to straighten and smooth the hair. Try aiming the dryer at the roots to create volume, but don't keep the dryer in one place, keep it moving. You can use a straightening iron to make your hair extra sleek. Once hair is completely dry, pull all your hair together and pin it up with a big hair clip. Then take your straightening iron and work through the section of hair from the bottom upward. As you draw thin sections of hair through flat iron slowly, make sure you keep the iron moving also. When your hair is straightened, put a small amount of serum or hair gloss in the palm of your hand then rub your palms together and work it through the hair to keep it smooth.
