Outlook 2003 - checking data file 'Personal Folders' for problems
Is there a way to turn this OFF?

My computer has a few issues of its own.. nothing that bothers me too bad. Sometimes, it shuts itself down overnight and I usually have evrything still open... like outlook 2003.

I know that the problem is NOT with outlook but every time I go to open outlook again, it insists on checking the data file 'Personal Folders' for problems and it takes between 5 - 10 minutes! In my old outlook (2000) it would give me the option to check for problems or open in safe mode. Is there any way to make it just do that so I can choose NO?

    Thanks!

What is probably happening is that your energey saver is shutting down the PC after a period of inactivity. The way its shutting is causing Outlook to close abnormally.

    Check your Energy Saver settings.

I checked that and my hard drive is set to never turn off. I think it just happens for updates that it automatically needs to reboot. But then sometimes it just shuts itself off. That parts not too big of a deal... I have learned to live with it (always use autosave and never leave anything unsaved lol). Its just this pain in my arse problem checking that outlook does now... its enough to make me want to switch back to outlook 2000
