    Extension without wife's ITIN/SSN
    Hi,

How can we file for extension if my wife do not have ITIN yet? I will be sending W-7 form along with the return when I send the return.
And we are planning to file as married jointly.

Is it okay to file extension only for me even if I will be filing return jointly?

For California state return, do I have to send a separate extension?

    Suggest.

    Thanks

If you owe state tax then you file FBT3519. If you do not owe tax, then you do not file FBT3519. You can file it online and pay due tax online.

And what should we do for the federal? Should I file extension only for me?

If you are going to fle a joint return, file the extension only for yourself.
