1989 Buick Century 3.3L No Spark Condition
I have been trying to get this car running for almost a month now and am having no luck whatsoever. I have narrowed it down to a no spark condition but can't find out why for the life of me. I have replaced the ECM, Ignition Control Module, all 3 coils, Crankshaft Position Sensor, Plugs and wires, battery, have had the alternator tested, tested the starter solonoid, and I still can't find out what's causing this. Whenever I try to run a diagnostic I get a Code 12 (diagnostic mode/all clear). I just don't know where to look anymore and would rather fix it myself then send it to a mechanic and have to pay a ton of money I don't have to spend. I hope someone can help me. Thanks for any help that can be given.

You have done a lot of good things. Here are several additional items to test:

. Test all underhood and underdash fuses with a test light or multimeter:

. Test for power to the coils.

. Check the ignition switch for wear, pitting, or melting.

. Do you hear the fuel pump run, when the ignition switch is turned to ON?

Yes the Fuel Pump primes up perfectly. It's actually been flooding my engine because the fuel injectors are not closing after I try to start it. I have checked all my fuses and fusible links and everything is checking out okay. I will check for power to the coils shortly. I am wondering if a no spark can be caused by the timing chain being loose. Thanks for the quick response.

Okay I did go and check the coils and I am only getting voltage to one side of the plugs going into the coils off the ignition module. I have the C3I system and the only wire that has any power is the pink wire going into the C3I plug. I am starting to think that the PCM has no power to some areas of it, reason being that I am not hearing the magnetic coils inside of the injectors clicking. It seems that only those systems that bypass the PCM during ignition/starting are functioning. I am not sure if this is the case and if anybody has an idea as to why I am getting no voltage across the majority of the circuits please let me know. Thanks.

Well, it looks like you and I have the same year and model vehicle with the same issue. I have checked for spark and no spark from all 3 coils, and when I install my NOID light to the injectors, I have no ground. I have checked my schematic and I have power going to those circuits (PNK-WHT). I had my mother take her Ignition control module to Autozone and they tested it with another, and it passed. So I am back to the diagnostic board. My schematic shows the ECM grounds the injector (which is engine performance 101) so I am going to see if I have good ground. The injector circuits have separate wires for ground to the ECM from each bank. Injectors 1,3,5 are grounded to the ECM through LT-BLU, and 2,4,6 are ground with LT-GRN. As far as testing my circuits for my Ingition control module, the schematic I have is very vague, so I might have to start tracing wires, and hope I find something.I plan to remove the ECM connector and OHM check each wire till I find which one is open. I know I didn't exactly solve your problem, but I might have helped assist with troubleshooting for you, as well as myself. I hate having to drive to another city to pick up my aging mother to or from work.
