I had been thinking on this questions for years. I got few answers, but not sure what to believe in. Hence I am posting this question here with a hope to get the right answer.
The chapters in the book of Genesis, tells us about the creation of the Universe and Adam and Eve and the whole story.
I am wondering who was Cain's wife who gave birth to Enoch and where did she come from?
The bible does not tell us, any answer would be a guess on anyone's point.
Most take an opinion that it would have been one of Adam and Eve other children ( daughter) or even grad child, we have no idea how many children they had,
The other idea is that God created other humans, Adam just being the first, The bible OT being the history of the hewbrew nation, from the first man to Jesus.
If we read the book of Genesis carefully, we can learn alot more then what has been past along throught the years.
Point #1 God made man/male and female on the sixth day. (Genesis 1:26-27)
After that God told them be fruitful and multiply. He gave them access to every seed of nature that was created ( Genesis 1:28-30)
By the night of the sixth day, God looked and things were good.. (Genesis 1:31)
Remember: One day with the Lord is but a thousand years .. Don't be ignorant of this fact.
(2 Peter 3:8)
We were told by God that these were the generations, and hertiage of man (Genesis 2:4-5)

Now: Read the beginning of one certain man that would be created, and put in a garden in the eastward of Eden. ( Genesis 2:6-8)
There is much detail in where this garden was planted. And inform given to name each river that will permits us the important location that God planted this garden. ( Genesis 2:9-14)
Then the story begins and the man is told by God all that is God's Will (Genesis 2:15-18)
This is a big world God created, and in this one man, and his location of land... there would come the single most important hertiage in generations for us to be thankful for unto God.
Adam and Eve are the hertiage life line to Christ. That is why Eve is called the mother of all living.. Because we would be left unto death without Christ...
Yet is also shows that God knew before hand that life or death would be the sole reason for "THE WORD" that would be made flesh.
Cain with the mark left and dwelled in Nod which was east of Eden. His tribe is known throughout scripture as the Kenites a Canaanitish people .. the tribe from which the father-in-law of Moses was a member and which lived in the area between southern Palestine and the mountains of Sinai
Triund - I'm curious about one thing you said. You said that you are "...posting this question here with a hope to get the right answer." In this case, what do you mean by "right answer"? Do you already have a position or are you looking for an answer that makes rational sense to you? I'm just curious because it strikes me that you are looking for a "right answer" when it could sound like you already made up your mind.Quote:

Jake, I had been told that Cain married one of his sisters. Then how could they have a normal baby. My understanding is that baby between brother and sister will not be normal. Between the cousins, it is another story.

Now days we have mutation problems that cause defects if bother and sister have babies.
Thousands of years are most if not all of those genetic defects were not present as today.
Also we have many cases in history where brother and sister married and there were not defective children from those unions.
I bekieve what Fr. Chuck mentioned for you is about right as to who Cains wife was.

Yes, arcura, contrary to what evolution proclaims, we are degenerating. Adam had all the different DNA in him. It's a little like a copier in that the original is fine. Then a copy then use that copy to make a copy. As you know, the copies keep getting worse and worse. That's why it was okay for Cain to marry a sister or niece and for Abraham to marry his half sister, Sarah. When the book of the law came 400 years later, close blood relations were forbidden. Even if close blood relatives today have a child, there is not necessarily a defective child born. The chances ARE greatly increased though. Just like breeds of dogs. The german shepherd, the rottweiler, the doberman, the poodle, they are all deteriorating breeds due to inbreeding. That's why mongrels are usually a lot healthier than their "purebred" counterparts.
Several things, incest does not mean a baby is not normal even today, it only means that there is a larger chance.
But the reason today there is a problem is the corrupt DNA of people today, for Adam he would be much closer to perfect than we are

Yes, it is true that in modern times it is unatural and unormal for a brother and sister to have children together now-a-days but if you notice, in the bible it says that God told Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply. They had cain and abel and other children but they were theonly ones on the earth. So the only way to "be fruitful and multiply" was to have interfamily marriages. So it is quite possible that cain married a sister of his but if you notice the bible says that after Cain killed abel, cain fled the land and went into another town. There he met his wife, so his wife was in a different town which gives reason to believe that adam and eve could have had MANY children BEFORE cain and abel and the bible just focuses on Cain and Abel because that is when the first murder was committed.Quote:

That is something they want us to believe but much royalty and many hillbillies have babies within their families. They are called blue bloods because with in breeding over years their skin gets a tint of blue to it. Inbred babies are more susceptible to birth defects but often they don't have any birth defects.Quote:
