    How do you solve 3x - 12x 1/2 power=0

    Does
    3x - 12x 1/2 power=0
    mean


    If so, move the 12~ to the other side, square both sides to remove the '^1/2' then divide by 9X

    Actually, raising something to the 1/2 is the same thing as the getting the radical. We apparently see the same problem, with different ways to solve it. Good alternate solution.
