Battery replacement for hunter light switch.
    Hello,
I recently purchased a new home. After a few months the light on the deck has stopped working. The light and fan still work but not with the wall switch. At first I thought I may have to replace it due to moisture. After reading about the Hunter light switch, seems there may be a battery inside. I believe the switch is either to be remote, or fixed to the wall. Would a wall switch need a battery? I would like to try and replace the battery before buying a new switch. Does anyone know how to go about getting to the battery?
    Thank you for your help.

What type of wall switch is it? How many buttons does it have, and what do they control?

Most wall switches do not use batteries.

The light switch is a hunter. It has it has a light button, 3 fan buttons and an off button. If you hold down the light button it acts as a dimmer switch for the light. When I looked on the internet I found the switch can also be used as a remote unit. So I figured that maybe there is a battery in it and that may be causing the problem. The switch is only a few years old, so I don't think it has blown out. What is the life span of an outdoor switch?

You can check it for a battery, but I doubt it. Either the switch or receiver has gone bad. They aren't designed to be installed outside.

    Does the fan have pullchains?
