When it cranks and I run it for a while I would cut the power and the starter would keep running then I'll take the battery cable off and every time I touch the battery with the cable it would spark ,could it be the solenoid or switch?

Could be either.chances are the solenoid,has gone bad. Try lightly tapping on the solenoid,and see if you can connect the cable with out a spark.
