    Floor tile height
Please answer this question for me.

Tiling a floor to be at the same level as some stairs which it butts up to and don't think a "threshold" or transition piece would be appropriate for stairing.

What kind of height in thinset do you end up w/ a 1/2" trowel? Assume you don't get 1/2 after pressing tile in. Is there a set guide?

    Thank you in advance,

Please be very specific with these answers and I'll be able to get your transition within 1/16" or better.

    What size tile?
    tile or stone?
what's there now, just subfloor or slab?
If subfloor, is there anything else on it right now(plywood underlayment how thick, cement board--1/4 or 1/2"
How much height build up from the subfloor to the top of the tread you are meeting?

    I'll post back later
