My hard disk does not appear to work. The drive produced neither noise nor any indication of obvious activity. In fact , the drive light on the PC case does not light up .I think that a hard disk drive failure. Please give me other alternative causes you can think of for the behavior I describes.:confused::rolleyes:

Make sure the cables are correctly inserted and are tight. If possible, verify that power is getting to the hard drive. If the drive still continues to work as you've described, it's toast.
