    Non-Resident alien dependent
    HI,
I am a resident-alien. I came to US in April 2008. My wife and my daughter (2 years old ) came here in July 7 2008. They are non-resident alien.

    My questions are,
Can I claim my daughter for child care benefits?

Can I claim my daughter for depentent exemption? My daughter is dependent on me and I have to spend all her needs.

Can I apply ITIN for my daughter?

    Thanks

If you are a resident alien, you can file joint return as residents and claim your daughter. You will also get child tax credit.
Attach W7 (ITIN applications) with your tax return if your wife and daughter can not get SSN.
