I really need help I have very tiny in grown hairs all over my lower body. The hair is just stuck there right underneath the skin. I have stop shaving for a month and tried all these products: throughout the years Tend Skin, Kelo, Dermagen, and I use a Alpha Hydroxide exflolator very time a bath and a lotion with the same stuff in it. My Doctor refuses to right a referral for me to see a dermatologist, I think she doesn't understand African American skin issues. I really hate wearing skirt or shorts. Please help me I think I tried everything. I really really need advise I don't know what to do.

Call the dermatologist yourself. Usually you don't need a referral to get in.

Alpha-hydroxy products cause the skin to swell and it (literally) burns away a tiny layer of the skin. It may be aggravating your condition.

I have the same problem... But it's on my FACE and I'm a WOMAN. So please know. That although you have it bad. Someone else may have it worse.

There's always someone that may have it worse, but this person came here for answers. Not reassurance. I know that your heart was in the right place though.

I agree with Perito. You can call dermatologists yourself. And you can call your insurance company (if you have insurance) and find out which ones are on their list. If not, open up to the yellow pages or Google "dermatologists in Portland, Oregon" or wherever you live.
