    Wheres My Period Got To
Hi,Im 23,married and sexually active whilst not using any contraception. The thing is my period is about two weeks late.Ive taken two pregnanct tests one of them at the doctors. Both were negative.I have been getting stomach pains and back pain also the occasional feeling of nausea.I am eating pretty okay ie:no fad diets. The doctor suggested it could be due to stress but although I am its no more than usual.Im not underweight. The doctor said I could have some kind of infection and I'm worried he might have meant sexually. My husband is the only person I have ever slept with and visa versa.I would welcome a pregnancy but have been told the chances are pretty slim.I am worried as it seems it could be anything. The doctor told me to wait another week but I'm already on edge.Any advise please? Don't spare any details!

When a doctor speaks of infection,it does not necessarily mean a sexually transmitted disease. It could mean any type of infection.Being ill ,even with a flu can throw you off.

I would not be too concerned as a missed or even very delayed period is not that uncommon.

Depending on your age,it could be the beginning of menopause of Perimenopause.
It usually begins in the 40's but can also start in the 30's.Sorry,on rereading I saw your age so this would not apply to you.

I would be sure to have very open communication with your doctor and never leave his office without all your concerns being answered fully. You are paying for a service and you deserve answers.

You may not be paying but they are being paid for a service.I reread your post, sorry about missing your age.

Regarding infection, that could apply even to a flu bug.Even a common cold can toss you off your cycle.

As your doctor indicated, give it another week.
