Property lost to Quit Claim in 1988 - Questions
Hello - My Mother lost our family cottage to a Quit Claim deed in 1988. She took a cash loan in exchange for the property and did not pay back the loan as agreed. Therefore, the people took possession of the cottage and all the contents. Qs: Does my mother currently hold any claim to the title? If so, is there anything we can do to get our personal property back in exchange for her granting a clear title on the cottage? Is there a statue of limitations in NY for a situation such as this? I realize it is long after the fact but I was not aware of the circumstances until just recently. I hope you can help. We are not in the position of being able to afford attorneys. Many thanks to you.
