I have an hp pavilion dv 2000 and I can't get it fire up, the blue lights come on but nothing else. I tried disconnecting the bat. Holding the power botton but no response, I'reseated the memory, nothing help...

Basically you have done all you can do on your end as far as confirming there is an issue with your display.

At this point, hopefully it would still be under some sort of extended warranty and have it serviced.

If not, you can take it in to see how much it would be repaired as opposed to purchasing a new one.

In the meantime, you could always hook up an external monitor to the laptop to be able to use it and save whatever information that you may need and basically decide what would be next.
