    Holistic Doctor

Boils are an infection of the skin caused most commonly by Staphylococcus. The hair follicles of the skin get infected.
They occur in persons who sweat excessively or whose sweat has a high content of electrolytes and is concentrated.

Bacteria get trapped in and grow in sweat.
It would be essential to keep the armpits clean by shaving frequently, so also the groin.

A condition called Hidradenitis suppurativa is a more severe form of boils and occurs due to infection of the sweat glands themselves.

Keeping the area clean is the most important form of prevention.
A medicated soap or lotion often helps to reduce the boils significantly.
An underlying predisposing cause (like diabetes, if applicable) needs to be ruled out.

A home remedy poultice may be tried if the boils are not too severe to need a doctor's attention:

Mix the following: 1 tablespoon of honey
With 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
And 1/2 teaspoon of ginger powder
And a big pinch sea salt.
Apply this paste as a poultice, using a cling film / cloth, for 2 or three days.

Never squeeze a boil because you might force the bacteria into the surrounding tissues or even into the bloodstream causing serious infections!
