    Commission change with email notice
I am an independent sales representative for a software company. I have a signed contract giving me 100% commission on my training. The company has decided to pay only 80% on my training and they have notified me by email saying the change is effective immediately. My contract is not up until July. What would you recommend I do? I do not believe they can make this change without me agreening to sign an addendum to my contract.

    Regards,
    B

Look close at your original contract.

    The keys should be
    a. how long it lasts, and
    b. if they are permitted to change it at their discretion.

What does it say about these things? Depending, you may or may not have a claim at your local courthouse.

... and the sad part is that you may have to pay more in attorney fees than what you can get from them...
