I have a DVD player that plays well one day, but then has no sound the next. If I wait a day, it will play sound again. Any suggestions other than buying a new DVD player?

This is a real puzzler. I think you need to try to correlate the failures with something else. For example, does it work every other day like clockwork, or is it more random? Is it only on humid days? Stretch the thought process.
