Can I get my tubes tied and what are the some bad side effects?
OK I'm going on 19 pretty quick here and I want to get my tubes tied I don't trust the pill or condoms.. but I want to know what could be the down fall to this? I can easily have the ties removed when I'm older and decide to have a baby right... but mostly because I don't think I'm mentally stable enough to handle another pregnancy will a doctor tie my tubes at his age? What do you think?

I do not know where you live but in most states they will not tie your tubes until you are 21 and have kids or have a health issue where you have to have them removed. FYI I had mine tied and it sucked! I was in a lot of pain and it makes your cycle painful!

I would strongly suggest an IUD. I have one and well I'm baby free. I don't have heavy periods nor do I have cramps- and IUD was the perfect choice for me. I chose this because I know I would not be punctual with my pill and I detest condoms- however always use one if you are not in a monogamous relationship!

Here is are a few links to better inform you:

A tubal ligation isn't always reversible and most doctors will not perform one on a 19 year old that has no children.

There are other forms of birth control, a tubal is usually for someone who doesn't want children ever.

I was scared too, really- I hated the thought.

However, now I don't have to worry about pills, condoms, pulling out before he goes.

It is just a tad bit painful when inserting it- like a pinch.

It's up to you- but I really recommend it;)

Um last time I had a pap done it felt like my doctor just stabbed me with and 8inch knife so I don't want to go through that again! And then having to have the doctor put one of those little things in with out numbing or pain killers HELL NO

Yeah but the surgery isn't done through my vagina!

I can guarantee that surgery will be way more painful than a simple IUD. ;)

That maybe true but I can deal with that pain!
