1995 Mercury Grand Marquis airbag light flashes 42
My 1995 Grand Marquis airbag light flashes 4 times then 2 times. I was able to find other codes, but cannot find the 42. Does anyone know what the 42 code is? Thanks.

Code 42 for a '95 Grand Marquis is "Lefthand Radiator Primary Crash Sensor Feed/Return Circuit Open"

What method did you use to extract the code?
Are you certain that you aren't misreading a code 24?
DTC 24: System Disarm/Internal Diagnostic Monitor Fault
Inspect the harness under the front of the vehicle from the front sensor mounted on the radiator core support.
And double check that code, please.

I just counted the flashes when I turned the key on. It seems to be 4-2 because it flashes 4 times first when I turn the key, then the 2, then seems to pause and then repeat a few times. I guess it's possible it's a 24, but I'm not sure how to confirm it. I'll watch it again tomorrow.

The "long" flashes are the first number and the "short" flashes are the second. If you get two long and four quick flashes, the code would be 24 rather than 42.

The flashes all seem to be the same speed and duration. It flashes 4 times, pauses 2 seconds, flashes 2 times, pauses 5 seconds then repeats the cycle a couple times, then goes solid. With either the 24 or 42 code, it seems I need to check the sensor/harness at the radiator? Is it possible it's just a corroded connection or is this something I need to bring into the dealer?
