    If you want to be jailed for refusing to testify, yes, you can refuse.

    Or you can retain an Attorney and argue your right NOT to testify against yourself.

    Otherwise - no, you can't refuse and simply walk away from a case.

    And this is something I would not attempt without first receiving legal advice - OP could find himself a Defendant if he/she refuses to testify. Next Grand Jury hearing will be the "facts" of his/her case.
