What's the best way to become a qualified accountant?
I have a degree in Economics, but I want a career in accountancy. I reside in the UK, London. Are there any hardened accountants out there who can advise me on the best course of action, please. In terms of whether I should invest in an online degree, or do a short course in, well, something? Should I aim straight for the jugular and go for
Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) qualification or be practical and aim for Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) qualification. Also, I'm 32 now, do you think prospective employers will look unfavourably on it? Anyway lots of qs just need a good starting point

    ROLCAM

I am a B.Ec. And also an FCPA.
    I am now retired .
I would suggest that you would go back to the University that you attended in the past
And ask them what other necessary subjects you need to take to satisfy the Accountancy
    Bodies requirements.
Employers look very favourably on what you are embarking on.

    Incidentally 32 is not old.
I started at the start when I was 29.

    Good luck.
