I was told the statue of limitations for California for domestic abuse is 7 years, and then my ex told me it was 12 years. He has a warrant for his arrest for not showing up in court on May 9th, 2002
When will the chance of his being taken to jail for that warrant be over. Thank you.

If a warrant was issued, I do not believe that the statue applies anymore and it is valid forever. A SOL only applies to how long the government has to press charges. Charges have been pressed already.

You're talking about the SOL on criminal DV charges and on warrants? Again, a criminal law question for which you probably can get a fast answer on the criminal law board. The law is so specialized now (the days of the general practitioner are long gone) that it is almost like the practice of medicine.

When it comes to criminal law, I really don't have many answers without doing the research. And the same is true of criminal law attorneys-- they typically know zip about family law.

If I don't know the answer cold, I'm not going to guess at it (I really hate doing that when it comes to legal questions).
