I've got a 2002 impala and the headlights won't come on. The daytime running work and I can even pull on the bright light knob and they will come on but the headlights don't do anything. Any ideas?

Low beam headlights are likely burned out. Try replacing the bulbs.
That was the first thing we tried
. Check all underdash and underhood fuses with a test light or multimeter:

. Check/replace combination light switch. This is the most likely culprit.
Some cars have separate fuses for the high and low beam. That fuse is probably in the engine compartment if it does.
I have a 2000 repair manual that I can look in.
Look for the Headlamp relay underhood.
Replace it.
Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) and flash-to-pass don't go through that relay. Only when you switch on headlamps do they power through that relay. I don't like how they did this, but they stopped asking me how to do things since I retired last fall.
